Evergreen from Asia Minor, in nature reach a height of 2-3 meters: it is an important element of the ecosystem of rainforests as a source of food for many animals. In the spring it emits a beautiful white bloom, often followed by some berries. Bonsai is easy to cultivate, but suffers if it is frozen, so in the coldest areas it is placed inside during the winter. It is also called the Chinese Myrtle; in fact belongs to the same family of the Myrtle and is well suited for use as bonsai thanks to its small leaves and roundwood.
