Sarracenia Purpurea Hybride is a very flashy succulent plant, given the gushing appearance of its bright red ascidia. The ascidium has an oblong shape, narrower at the bottom and wider by the opening. The ascidium has a wavy appearance that makes it particularly elegant. It can grow up to 20 cm, but the flower can grow up to 40. Its blooming is promoted by the plant correct resting time over Winter and gives birth to incredibly beautiful 5 petals, globe-like, purplish flowers. It is advisable to keep Sarracenia in the sunlight as much as possible, even to preserve its characteristic colour. During Summer, it is a good idea to move it into the shade during the warmest hours, in order to avoid damaging of the ascidia's surface. Having said this, it tolerates high temperatures very well, up to 37-38° C, but during winter it should never be exposed to a temperature below zero. Speaking about maintenance, the plant should always be kept in a wet environment, so make sure you always leave at least 2 cm of water in the flowerpot saucer. Watering should be completely avoided during Winter, but keeping the soil always a bit moist. Bright coloured and voluminous, this succulent plant is an authentic delight to the eye, especially when blooming.
