Dionea Muscipola is the most famous and sought after carnivorous plant!

The Dionea, discovered in 1768 by J. Ellis, was then studied by Darwin who called it "the most spectacular carnivorous plant in the world" for its fascinating mechanism of capturing prey. Its leaves, arranged in rosette, are equipped with soft teeth that respond to external stimuli by clenching and trapping insects, attracted by the red color of their interior. The name Dionea means "born of Dione", the mother of Venus, and underlines the beauty of this plant that wraps its prey in a deadly embrace. No coincidence is also called Venus flytrap!
The Dionea Muscipola should be kept outdoors and in full sun, preferably with exposure to the south, during the vegetative period that goes from March to November: the ideal temperatures to which it survives well are between 20 and 35 ° C. In winter instead La Dionea Muscipola can also withstand temperatures between 2 and 10 ° C. It should be watered with demineralized water, osmotic or rain from below, then using a saucer, without ever wetting its mouths.
Attention, Dionea should not be fertilized: the only nutrient nutrients that this plant needs are those that derive from the digestion of the captured prey.
Finally, even if it can be curious and inviting, it is good never to give in to the temptation to artificially stimulate the leaves, because it would risk unnecessarily stressing the plant and weakening it.

Bellissima!

Veramente stupenda.Spero di mantenerla così a lungo
