An unmistakable shape ball, Ferocactus latispinus belongs to the family to the genus Ferocactus. It is defined by the british barrel cactus, because of his bearing rounded and ribs on the sides, similar to those of a barrel. 4 central spines are the longest, while the aisles are thick and flattened: these peculiarities mixed and his growing among the bushes, has earned him the name of "lame-horses." In countries of origin the plant blooms in October. the flowers are small and fleshy, deep purple. Put it in full sun, and give regular watering in summer and then suspend them in winter, when temperatures are between 3 and 15 °. The heart of the Ferocactus latispinus is used to prepare the Cactus Candy, a popular Mexican sweet.
