Stenocereus pruinoso presents a colonnade growth and is a plant that in its natural habitat can exceed even 3 m high. Each stem is gray / blue, hence the name "ghost organ cane". The surface has a slight white and waxy cover (for example in grapes and plums, this is why the "prune" meaning) has a protective action. Each stem has 6 to 10 shores with aisles from which flowers and thorns originate. Its flowering is at night, and the fruits that come from it are red and big as a small apple.

Exposure and brightness: It can be positioned in the sun.

Temperature: Supports even stiff temperatures up to about 0 ° C, but the optimum temperature is between 21 and 26 ° C.

Soil type: Needed of well drained soil: ideal is a substrate mix between perlite sand and universal soil. It is recommended to insert lapla or expanded clay on the bottom of the vessel.

Irrigation: Every 8-10 days from April to September; In winter it is suspended.

Fertilization: Once a month during the vegetative period, with specific fertilizer for cactaceae.
