Astrophytum is a succulent plant that grows on the dry soil of Mexico and South Texas and is named after its peculiar star shape. It is a succulent plant, that has a vaguely spherical shape and can have 4 to 8 external ribs. Its surface displays a rich pattern of white dots, which are slightly raised and can be felt at a finger's touch. Astrophytum Hanakago is a variety that was born out of a selection of cultivations in Japan at the beginning of the 90s. It loves the sun and dry soils in particular. During Summer, it needs to be watered every 15-20 days, only when the soil is completely dry. During Winter, it needs to be kept at a temperature of at least 5°C. Repotting must occur generally every 2 or 3 years and a should be made in a slightly bigger pot.
