Curiosity: its beauty deceives the eye because it seems almost a herbaceous plant while having the characteristics of a succulent.
Comprising more than 1500 species, the genus Senecio is widespread throughout the world. Very similar to the elder brother "mandraliscae", the Senecio serpens possesses the same soft and pruinose consistency of the leaves, but a lower height and a more compact posture. The leaves are still pointed and start from the long stems, usually in groups of 3-4 for plants.
In summer the Senecio can generate small white flowers. Its blue water color is a distinctive element of this crassulacea; its beauty deceives the eye because it seems almost a herbaceous plant while having the characteristics of a succulent.
It requires little attention to give the best of itself: sunny position, with waterings only in dry soil and with a modest amount of water to avoid stagnations that could damage it. Temperatures should never fall below 5 °, but the Senecio also adapts to short frosts. The ideal soil for this succulent is very well drained and can be fertilized with cacti fertilizer once a year at the vegetative restart.
