Amaniense chlorophyte: the "burning" plant of East Africa

This unusual variety of Chlorophyte, called Amaniense, was introduced in the United States in the late 1990s. It is an unusual plant in our area. In stunning contrast with the green of the leaves, incredible orange-coral shades of the stems stand out. The color is so bright that it seems almost fiery, here is the name "Fire Flash". It produces small white flowers along a cylindrical panicle that rises from the center of the plant, which last about a week and then turn into pods.
Like its distant relative Chlorophyte comosum, it has small swollen nodules in its root system to store water. It also has a tendency to produce aerial roots.

Exposure and brightness: This Amaniense Chlorophyte grows in an environment in partial shade or shade. Too much light or direct sunlight can cause sunburn and damage to the leaves.

Soil type: It needs well-drained soil, better if humus enriched with nutrients.

Irrigation: Being tropical, the Amaniense Chlorophyte loves humid environments, and requires regular watering whenever the soil is almost dry, avoiding stagnation. If possible use rainwater not too cold. Useful the nebulisations on the leaves.

Fertilization: Once a month fertilize your Chlorophyte with liquid fertilizer for green plants.

N.B. The specifications described above may vary depending on the climate of the area where the plant is placed and the season.
