Polyscias Fruticosa, charming dwarf tree from India

Polyscias Fruticosa, also known as Ming Aralia, is an easy-to-grow houseplant. Belonging to the Araliaceae family, it is native to India, with a bushy appearance. Some botanists consider the Polyscias plant as a natural dwarf tree, mainly due to its variable height. This indoor plant can reach up to 1-2 meters. The branches develop at regular intervals in the trunk in a vertical position, giving it a symmetrical "canopy" shape and in summer small flashy flowers develop. A particularity of the plant Polyscias Fruticosa is that the older branches, the basal ones, tend to dry up leaving conspicuous scars, which however make the plant very attractive!
In order to keep your Polyscias Fruticosa plant as well as possible, little care is needed: it is good to keep it in a good light position, preferably under a window. The temperature in which it prospers well is between 15 and 30 degrees; does not tolerate the cold that could discolor or even damage the leaves. the soil must be rich and draining, such as a mix of universal soil with peat sand. It should always be kept moist, not exaggerating with water because water stagnations are poorly tolerated, as well as environments with a too dry atmosphere that could cause it to lose its leaves. The nebulizations on the leaves are useful to recreate the humidity of its natural habitat.
It is fertilized during the spring-summer period using universal fertilizer or green plants that must be rich in macro-elements, nitrogen, potassium and magnesium.
